Our Mission

At Southampton Sharks Junior Darts Academy, our mission is to create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where young people can develop their skills and confidence through the game of darts.

We believe that darts is more than just a sport – it builds focus, discipline, sportsmanship, and social skills that benefit our players on and off the oche.

Training weekly at Bitterne Park Social Club in Southampton, we welcome all juniors regardless of ability or experience. Whether they’re complete beginners or already competing, every player is encouraged to enjoy the game, grow at their own pace, and feel like part of a team.

Our Promise To You

As a parent or guardian, you can trust that your child will be supported, respected, and encouraged at every step. Our sessions are run by experienced and DBS-checked coaches and volunteers who are passionate about both darts and youth development.

We promise to provide a safe, friendly environment where every child is given equal opportunity to learn, improve, and have fun.

We understand the importance of building confidence as well as ability. That’s why we focus on positive coaching, personal growth, and team spirit – helping every young player feel proud of their progress.

JDC Grading System

We proudly use the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) grading system as part of our weekly training. This structured system gives players the opportunity to earn recognised certificates as they develop, starting from White level and progressing through the ranks to Black.

Each grade helps measure key skills like accuracy, scoring, and consistency, and gives players clear goals to work toward. It’s not just about winning – it’s about improving.

The grading system encourages focus, effort, and steady progression, all while keeping things exciting and rewarding. Whether your child is aiming for their next certificate or just enjoying the challenge, it’s a great way to build both skills and confidence.
